And so it begins...

We've been working on creating our first collection, due for general release AW18 for nearly a year now. It's been a long road, and one with many twists. Although it hasn't always been easy, we have learnt so much and week by week have seen real progression which has made the journey all the more exciting.

We have been juggling our full time jobs with meeting manufacturers, suppliers, visiting textile mills and trade shows and have spent our evenings navigating a minefield of obstacles. It has honestly all been worth it. Myself and my wife Jess dedicated our time and lives to HAAR back in October 2016 when we registered the company and made the decision to try and do what we had long dreamed of; working for ourselves doing something that we loved. And so HAAR was born...

Although many obstacles still lie ahead (including telling friends and employers what we've been up to), it now feels like we are ready to reveal the brand and our vision to the world. I have worked in the clothing and lifestyle industry for a number of years now and have gained a lot of valuable insight. I believe HAAR is something that the industry needs. We're not re-inventing the wheel, in fact quite the opposite. We believe in going back to a time of artisanal honesty, craft, pride and passion is what the menswear landscape has been waiting for. Scotland has so much to offer the world.
